It boggles my mind that
It boggles my mind that people have such a chip on their shoulder that they find racism in anything today. The fact that you had to stretch back nearly 60 years to find a link between an automotive company and the Nazi regime shows how desperate you are to grasp for any resemblance of racism and it is despicable. You should also know, as you stated, that Auto Union built vehicles etc. for the Nazis, not Audi. Audi was a company that was the unison of four other companies (including the aforementioned). Audi has no reason to apologize. Their 'grand father,' if you will, worked for their country and should not be made to apologize for their action.
Imagine if Boeing was told to say sorry for building planes during WW2 because they helped the United States, their country, fight a war. How about we tell GM to pay severance back to all the people they ran over with the tanks they built in WW2? They would laugh at you. Or more currently, how about we get General Dynamics to go visit the family of every person that their M1A2 tank has caused harm to in Iraq. Their response would likely be 'we are providing a tool to a country that we love, to support them in their time of need.'
Dont get me wrong, I think the atrocities of the Nazi regime, and the war in Iraq are unjust, but you can not hold a company responsible of the actions of a countries leaders.
That said, you should do your homework on cars before jumping to conclusions. 'Separate. Yet equally capable of shaking up a tired old category.' This is most likely a reference to the 'category' of the two door sports coupe. Recently Audi released its A5/S5 two door sports coupe. These cars are aimed squarely at the BMW and Mercedes two door sport coups. The A5/S5 is a car of its own, separate in the sense that the interior of said car is that of a luxury car as opposed to the BMW and Mercedes coups that are 'rough around the edges.' However the A5/S5 is 'equally capable of shaking up a tired old category' as the A5/S5 will instill new life into a tired scene. This will be Audis first foray into the coupe market in approximately 20 years.
The disappointing thing is that it took me 5 minutes of research to determine all this, while you, instead of becoming knowledgeable, chose to remain ignorant, chose to maintain that chip on your shoulder and chose to make an issue where one never existed.
General Dynamics builds nuclear weapons and sells weapons to the world. Those weapons also kill people of different races.... uh oh, I think I have found your next podium to preach from.
