National Bottle Recycling Bill, MA Rep. Markey introduced the Bottle Recycling Climate Protection Act of 2007 to create a 5¢ deposit on every beverage container sold in the country. The bill is intended to lower greenhouse gas emissions by boosting the recycling rate of frequently wasted beverage containers. As of 3/20, the bill has only 11 co-sponsors.
